Welcome! I'm Victoria, the writer behind Ignited Pennings: Words on FIRE for the Lord. I am a fiction and non-fiction writer, songwriter, musician, podcaster, and an aspiring police officer. I write to inspire Christians of all ages to live with a bold and courageous belief in the gospel, to pursue God's calling for them with fervor and faith, and to walk in His ways in truth and valor.

Allegiances

“They aren’t afraid of us, Valarie. They’re not even afraid of death...This kind of enemy is not one that can be taken lightly. You should know. You’re a cop, just like me.” He hesitated. “Just like Sydney was.”

“I do know, David. And that is exactly why I don’t want you

doing this alone.”

“No, Valarie. It is exactly why I should do it alone.”

After her friend, Officer Sydney Hedwigg, is shot and killed by a local crime syndicate member, Officer Valarie Davis, recently promoted to detective, investigates the homicide with her best friend and new partner, Senior Detective David Jones. Together they find out that a powerful drug lord is bent on revenge on Valarie for an unknown reason, and that Sydney’s death might have something to do with it.

But when David is nearly killed, Valarie is diagnosed with PTSD, and the drug lord and his mercenaries get closer, the two struggle against one another for control of the case. Their relationship only strains harder when they uncover the true reason for why Valarie is being hunted, who really shot Sydney, and the possibility that someone else entirely may be responsible for everything.

Trust is tested as secrets are brought to light. Loyalties are strained as the depth of the investigation deepens. Fear blinds and wrestles with faith until Valarie and David will have to come face to face with one question;
